Established at Takura, Hervey Bay in 1991, Australiana Cottage Crafts & Herb Farm is a continual work in progress.

There is a wonderful range of 100% locally made unique art and craft work. Taste and smell the herbs in the herb gardens. Craft demonstrations are held regularly.

Bottlebrush Craft Centre
The Bottlebrush Craft Centre is a gallery and meeting place for art and craft groups and a prime venue for local artists and craft workers to showcase their work.

The centre is open –
Tuesday to Friday: 10am to 2pm
Saturday: 9am to 1pm
Closed public holidays.
Entry is free of charge.

Located at 311 Kent Street, Maryborough, Gatakers Artspace is committed to supporting and promoting the art activities of individuals and groups.

Open Monday to Friday: 10am – 4pm.

Hervey Bay Art Society

Hervey Bay Art Society
‘Gallery 5’ in 5 Sandy Street, Urangan is the largest art gallery in Hervey Bay continuously displaying fine artworks for sale.

Opening Hours:

Friday: 9 am to 2 pm
Saturday and Sunday: 10am – 3pm


Original Maryborough Town Site

Original Maryborough Town Site
Pioneer graves help to create a sense of history when visiting the Original Maryborough site. It was first settled by Aldridge and the Palmer Brothers in 1848. It was largely abandoned by the mid 1850s in favour of the deeper port downstream, the city’s current location.

Located in Aldridge Street on the banks of the Mary River, about four kilometres from the city centre, the 30 hectare site has interpretive signage, walkways and trails along the creek frontage, pioneer graves, picnic tables, barbecue facilities and toilets.


Maryborough Art Gallery

Maryborough Art Gallery
Exhibits of arts, crafts and works by local artists in a series of changing displays along with exhibitions by travelling artists.

The gallery is home to the Maryborough Art Society and is operated by volunteers. Entry to the gallery is free and the premises is wheelchair friendly.

Maryborough's Bollards

Maryborough’s Bollards
Maryborough’s Bollards are seven colourful bollards overlooking the Mary River in the Mary River Parklands.

They represent a sea captain welcoming a family of immigrants landing at the Port of Maryborough in the 1860s.

In 1855 approximately 18,000 square metres of decking and warehouses were constructed creating the new wharves that would later become the Port of Maryborough.


Maryborough Heritage Centre

Maryborough Heritage Centre
Maryborough Heritage Centre houses both The Maryborough Family Heritage Institute and the Maryborough District Family History Society in the historic Bank of New South Wales building on the corner of Wharf and Richmond Streets.

The Centre holds one of the largest collections of genealogy records in Queensland, covering the immigrant passengers into Queensland and cemetery and burial records for a number of Queensland areas and provides vital research resources for the genealogist with an extensive library of records, historical books, articles and photographs.

The Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm
Saturday afternoon 1pm to 4pm and Thursday evening by appointment.


Rustic Emu Gallery

Rustic Emu Gallery
The gallery provides a wide range of art, including sculpture and mosaic.

Enchanted Garden Walk now open – as you follow the path through the garden you will discover magical sculptures lovingly created to surprise and delight.

You will find the Rustic Emu at 888 Mungar Road, Grahams Creek, 5 minutes from the Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary and 10 minutes from Maryborough (Look for the emu letterbox!). Open by appointment only. Phone (07) 4129 6003


The Fraser Coast Cultural Centre

The Fraser Coast Cultural Centre
This new contemporary, dynamic space provides an environment where culture is discovered, embraced and celebrated by all ages in the community.

The Centre incorporates the Hervey Bay Regional Gallery and a brand new intrepretive centre – the Fraser Coast Discovery Sphere.
