About Fraser Coast Attractions

This is an independent editorial rebuild of frasercoastattractions.com.au. We keep clean heritage tourism paths, drop the 2024–26 business-directory spam, and refuse live prices and “number one” claims.

Timber heritage cottages under hinterland trees.

Fraser Coast Attractions is an independent editorial guide on frasercoastattractions.com.au. It is not a tourism board, not a booking engine, and not the 2024–26 /business/ lead-generation experiment that briefly occupied this domain. We rebuilt the site as a Capes-depth visitor map for Hervey Bay, K’gari, whale season, and the hinterland towns the older tourism site already knew.

What we publish

Long-form pages with Australian public facts: Queensland Parks for the island, Tourism and Events Queensland for the whale-season window, UNESCO for the 1992 World Heritage listing, Parks Australia for federal park context on a wider trip, and council or destination pages for civic hours that move. We keep clean heritage slugs and 301 the .html twins.

What we refuse

Invented tour prices. Operator rankings. “Number one” claims. Medical or legal advice. Scraped business-directory spam. Live barge clocks copied as if they were permanent.

Who to write to

Editorial corrections: callum.sherwood.seo@gmail.com. We cannot hold a pontoon or a permit. The contact form is the same door. The privacy page says what we do with a message.

If you operate a museum or a barge and a fact here has aged, tell us. The park site still wins in a conflict.

Why the rebuild exists

The domain spent years as a useful small tourism map (category hubs, town slugs, museum pages). It later accumulated a business-directory era that did not belong next to K’gari. This rebuild restores the visitor IA, keeps clean heritage paths, 301s .html twins, and 410s /business/. Capes Chance supplies the section rhythm — hero, reasons, photo gateways, FAQ, CTA — not the yellow-and-black lighthouse palette.

Editorial rules

Australian public facts only. No invented prices, ratings, legal outcomes, or medical claims. Official park and tourism URLs win in a conflict. Butchulla and other Traditional Owner names are used as government and park language uses them, not as decoration.

Stack

Next.js 15, Keystatic for posts and page bodies, Netlify for host and headers. Contact remains callum.sherwood.seo@gmail.com. The footer disclaimer is on every public page.

If you need a booking, you need a different website — the operator’s, or Parks.

What “Capes-tier” means here

Long-form pages, photo heroes, at-a-glance chips, planning tables where they help, AIO-first FAQs, and a footer disclaimer on every public page. Unique lagoon-and-dune colour — not a lighthouse yellow clone, not a rainforest green clone. Unique generated photography of bay, dunes, whales, and hinterland timber. Technical SEO: trailing-slash canonicals on the owned domain, en-AU, OG/Twitter, JSON-LD that does not fight itself, sitemap, robots, llms.txt, security headers.

The contact address is the editorial desk. The Keystatic admin is noindexed. Thank-you and 410 pages are noindexed. That is the rebuild in one breath.

Fleet context, without pretending we are the parks service

This domain sits in a fleet of independent Australian visitor guides. The disclaimer in the footer is the legal sentence: trademarks remain with their owners; we are not an official booking channel; unauthorised reproduction is prohibited. Callum Sherwood is the editorial contact. Corrections beat compliments. Parks and operators still own the tickets.

Field notes from the rebuild

Wayback’s useful layer was 2015–2021: category hubs, town slugs, museum pages. The CDX sample was A–B biased, which is why C–Z attractions were rebuilt from public geography rather than from a scraped dump. Hervey Bay, K’gari and whales were the missing money pages. They exist now. Heritage .html aliases 301. /business/ is 410. If you have a primary-source town we omitted, write. We will not invent it from a guess.

Planning notes for readers who want a person

Write to callum.sherwood.seo@gmail.com with a URL and a primary source. We update pages when Parks, council, or a volunteer village changes a fact we repeated. We do not update pages to insert a live price. We do not add your tour to a league table.

The Keystatic collection is how posts and page bodies are edited locally. The Netlify host is how the site is served. The disclaimer is how trademarks stay with their owners. That is the whole institutional sentence.

Facts on this page are drawn from public Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service pages for K’gari (Fraser Island), Parks Australia for federal park context, the UNESCO World Heritage listing for K’gari (inscribed 1992), Tourism and Events Queensland whale-watching guidance, and Fraser Coast Regional Council / destination pages. Historic frasercoastattractions.com.au category and town URLs (Wayback 2015–2021) inform path structure — not live prices, tour rankings or 2024–26 /business/ spam. Bookings, barge clocks, vehicle access permits and park alerts belong on operator and QPWS sites. https://parks.qld.gov.au/parks/kgari-fraser

Next step

Plan the bay before you book the barge

Start with Hervey Bay, decide whether K’gari is a day or a night, and only then look at whale-season clocks. We do not sell tickets — we help you ask the right official offices.
